We’re excited to introduce a role within our newly opened canteen at Booker Distribution in Fareham!
As a Catering Assistant, you’ll bring previous experience working in a kitchen environment and play a key part in delivering a high-quality food service to our colleagues. Working as part of a small, friendly team, you’ll help prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold meals, ensuring the canteen remains clean, welcoming, and well-stocked throughout the day.

Responsibilities:
* Ordering of Stock for food preparation and vending machines
* Cooking meals
* Supporting stock management and stock control
* Code checking and checking quality of stock
* Preparation of food in accordance with food hygiene regulations
* Vending machine replenishment and management (price changes, cleaning and cash collection)
* Hospitality support
* Assisting in maintaining housekeeping in the canteen & kitchen facilities, dining area and Kitchen counters
* Adhere to food hygiene/HACCP/Allegen/COSHH Guidelines at all times
* Maintaining due diligence on temperature controls and code dates
Requirements:
* Cooking experience is essential
* Food hygiene & safety for catering level 2
* Allergen training certification
* Food handling qualification
* An excellent attitude towards customer service with a friendly outgoing personality and be used to working within a team environment.
* A high standard of presentation and the ability to work within a team producing and serving a varied menu to colleagues and visitors on site
* The ideal candidate will be required to prepare, cook and serve food along with cleaning duties and stock vending machines
This role is working Monday - Friday 12pm-8pm
