Together, both roles will support the food offer with knowledge of legislation around food and nutrition, medical diet management and strategic added value delivery across the contract. In total, there are 235 primary and secondary schools in the Mitie contract; the key responsibilities will include:1. Delivering our internal award-winning food and nutrition education programme to all year groups in all schools across the life of the contract with MITIE.2. Engaging with parents to promote school meals and to support with queries. Using participation strategies to drive school meal uptake.3. Working in partnership with each school to support a whole school approach to wellbeing, sustainability and school food4. Working closely with Regional Manager and in-contract teams to provide information required to meet KPIs of contract with regards to added value delivery and medical diets5. Building relationships with local Public Health teams to understand their priorities and support where possible6. Write and check medical diet menus for children in MITIE with allergies and intolerancesKey Responsibilities• Attending sites regularly on a weekly basis• Delivering nutrition education sessions to a wide variety of audiences• Translating complex nutrition information into simple facts and figures• Writing and checking medical diet menus for all children with medical diet requirements in the contract• Work alongside operators and marketing teams to increase engagement to drive school meal uptake• Co-write school strategy plans for education and sustainability • Provide expert knowledge of legislation around food and nutrition Internal• Deliver training to catering teams on nutrition and allergens• Ensure compliance to legislation in all sites• Support murderboards and sales presentations• Build relationships with existing clients and support retention presentations• Support with the mobilisation of new schoolsPerson Specification• Graduate of an accredited nutrition degree from university• 2-3 years experience in industry would be desirable• Confident in communicating to large groups of people and controlling challenging meetings/conversations• Confident in delivering nutrition and food education to different audiences• Knowledge of allergies and intolerances• Must be willing to travel nationally and stay away from home • Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Demonstrates Compass values and recognition principles• Ability to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholder groups• Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and self-motivated• A passion for keeping up to date with research and national health events• Excellent presentation skills• Excellent IT skills• Ability to manage a busy diary independently• Holds Full UK Driving LicenseAbout UsPart of Compass Group UK&I, Chartwells is the leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector.
