Clinical Fellow in Cardiology

This post is for a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at Royal Papworth Hospital. The role is ideally suited to a cardiology trainee looking to gain broad experience in a leading tertiary centre.

In addition to service commitments, the post includes flexible training time. When not rostered for on-call or ward responsibilities, the Clinical Fellow will have opportunities to engage in training across a range of specialist areas, including coronary intervention, cardiac devices, electrophysiology, echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and specialist outpatient clinics.

The post is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with an anticipated start date of October / November 2025.


Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of high-quality inpatient care and emergency cardiology services. Responsibilities will include participation in the on-call rota (including bleep-holding, primary PCI cover, crash calls, ITU and surgery liaison) and acting as ward registrar for the hospital's three cardiology wards, with duties including patient reviews and clinical decision-making in collaboration with the consultant team.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* MRCP (UK) or equivalent
* Completed/near completion of higher degree (MD or PhD)
* Valid Adult Life Support (ALS)


Experience

* Registrar-level experience at managing acute Cardiology inpatients
* Experience managing inpatient cardiology
