Senior Business Analyst – Mergers & Acquisitions Birmingham – Hybrid – 2 days a week onsite Permanent As a Business Analyst specialising in Mergers & Acquisitions, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses. By conducting in-depth analysis of mergers and acquisitions, you’ll work to ensure seamless integration, enabling scalable growth and operational excellence. This exciting role goes beyond traditional BA responsibilities – it’s about developing a deep understanding of complex technology stacks, documenting processes for repeatable future success, and driving optimisation across the integration process. You’ll collaborate with talented, cross-functional teams and deliver solutions. What You’ll Be Doing Acquisition Analysis: Deep-dive into target companies’ technology stacks, platforms, and system landscapes. Investigate how technology supports these businesses and the benefits delivered. Identify challenges and opportunities for integration.Process Documentation: Document business processes throughout the integration journey. Create repeatable, scalable process templates for use in future M&A activity.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively across internal teams (IT, Operations, Finance) and engage with external consultants. Lead workshops and conduct interviews to gather insights from acquired businesses. Present findings and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.Integration Support: Contribute to the development of integration plans, timelines, and risk assessments. Track progress, report on milestones, and escalate potential issues where necessary.Continuous Improvement and Compliance: Capture lessons learned and continuously refine the M&A integration framework. Maintain a repository of knowledge for use in future acquisitions. Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and data protection standards. About You Skills and Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with M&A or large-scale integration projects. Strong knowledge of technology stacks, enterprise systems, and digital transformation. Proficiency in business process documentation and template creation. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage both detail and strategic oversight. Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder engagement expertise. A proactive, independent attitude with a knack for gathering and analysing information. Proven experience in fast-paced, complex organisational environments.Qualifications: Professional certification in Business Analysis (e.g., IIBA, BCS) is preferred. Familiarity with process mapping tools and methodologies is advantageous. Exposure to M&A activities or business integrations is highly desirable.
