Purpose of the role
The Software Test Lead will be responsible for the planning and execution of Technical test related activities, ensuring that they are effectively tested against agreed functional and non-functional requirements prior to production deployment.
The Software Test lead will be responsible for creating and implementing a testing framework, both manual and automated and will ensure and demonstrate that Testers adhere to this framework. The Software Test lead will have line manager responsibilities for Testers working on Software Delivery teams.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in the finance sector, testing end to end solutions. They will also have demonstrated experience of testing in an agile environment, combined with a strong technical test related background.
The role includes responsibility for the test process including analysis, design, tool selection and execution of test scenarios against the proposed solution to ensure the solution meets the business needs.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Analysing and designing test scenarios which most effectively prove the requirements of the business
* Contributing to the development of user stories by translating user stories into highly specified test cases
* Defining and communicating the test strategy for the project
* Creating test plans, test scripts and test cases using a standardised process and applying to individual projects/enhancements
* Coordinating and planning automated tests, including performance testing, within a development or integration project or programme
* Involvement in developing continuous integration and continuous deployment to increase efficiencies across the software development lifecycle
* Taking responsibility for integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinating the execution of these activities
* Managing all test processes, including test plans, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability
* Evaluating the system in terms of non-functional attributes, e.g. performance and reliability
* Preparing and executing the appropriate activities and reporting on their progress including demos or walkthroughs to other areas of the business
* Working closely with colleagues, developers, testers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
* Sharing Updates on progress in terms of Test Reports and other Test documentation daily with various stakeholders
* Ensuring that User Stories and Test Cases are linked to provide test coverage of the solution under test
* Contributing to projects in a range of different areas as required e.g. resolving design issues, analysing test feedback, QA
* Contributing to SAFe Agile ceremonies, PI Planning, Backlog refinement, Sprint Demo and Retrospectives. Also Test Script reviews
* Adhering to Test Team Standards. Improving the test process where possible
* Mentoring of less experienced team members
Skills
About You
* Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
* Highly self-motivated
* Keen attention to detail
* Ability to perform analysis and design for projects including impact analysis on existing systems for any proposed solutions
* Ability to effectively prioritise and work under pressure to deliver quality solutions
* Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
* Ability and willingness to provide technical leadership
* Experience of Selenium, BitBucket, Maven, BrowserStack, Jenkins, JMeter and SoapUI Test Rail, SQL, Outsystems, SharePoint, Azure Dev Ops.
The ideal candidate will have a solid testing background, including industry recognised testing qualifications. Must have an understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with Selenium, JMeter and SoapUI preferred. You will have strong proven customer focussed experience.

Working hours
Monday to Friday - hybrid model 2 days per week in the office. 37.5 hours per week.
