Senior Building Surveyor (Perth or Inverness)

Are you an experienced, chartered Senior Building Surveyor looking for an exciting new role at a leading firm that work with prestigious clients?
Bidwells have a newly created opportunity for a passionate, self‑motivated Senior Building Surveyor to join our Rural Estate Management and Professionaldepartment. The successful candidate will play an essential role working closely with a key client that we have a strong, long‑standing relationship with, working across their interesting and significant portfolio.
This role can be based either in our Perth or Inverness office, with agile working options.
What you’ll be doing
* Work on and project manage a range of instructions received from clients and colleagues to include house refurbishments, farm building repairs and construction, ground works and other building projects on rural estates
* Demonstrate due diligence in carrying out professional work
* Prepare specifications and contract tender documentation
* Supervise contractors and liaise with consultants
* Report as required to the client/s, agreeing variations and deliver projects on time, within budget
* Fully understand client needs and requirements
* Build and maintain relationships with existing clients and seek new clients and instructions
* Build internal relationships to ensure cross selling of work
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant Building Surveying legislation, standards and regulations and share relevant information
* Ensure best practice and policy/procedure compliance
* Maintain administrative and ad hoc duties as needed
About you
* A relevant or RICS accredited qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent.
* Ideally chartered (MRICS).
* Solid building surveying experience, preferably with some experience in the rural sector.
* Professional services or consultancy experience would be an advantage.
* Professional and personable client care skills.
* Have an awareness and understanding of issues affecting the economy and implications on the firm and on building surveying.
* Flexible and adaptable.
* Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong IT skills, specifically in the Microsoft Office package.
* CSCS card holder (desirable).
