Your new role
As a Management Accountant, you will be instrumental in providing financial insights, planning, and analysis to support informed decision-making. You will focus on how financial data can drive business performance, requiring a detail-oriented approach, strong control understanding, and industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts, ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, and submit within 6 working days. Reconcile revenue and balance sheet accounts.
* Variance Analysis: Analyze actual results versus budgets, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions.
* Profitability Analysis: Support profit margin analysis, identify cost control and revenue enhancement opportunities.
* Payroll Review and Reporting: Process payroll, identify errors, reconcile payroll and Tronc, analyze hours, and manage holiday accruals and recharges.
* Departmental Analysis: Assist in preparing departmental financial reports, reviewing key P&L areas.
* VAT Returns and Tax Reporting: Prepare VAT submissions and ensure compliance.
* Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Assist in forecasting revenue, costs, profit margins, and cash flows; monitor budgets.
* Cost Control and Financial Management: Oversee inventory, manage costs, and support operational financial needs.
* Financial Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure adherence to controls, assist with audits, and maintain regulatory compliance.
* Technology and Systems: Use accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage), seek process improvements, and support system integration.
Qualifications And Experience
* At least 2 years of management accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or similar service sectors.
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA) in progress is a plus.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
* Strong understanding of hospitality industry revenue streams, costs, and financial operations.
