Our EbEs work closely with healthcare professionals, service users, and organizations to provide insights, reviews, and recommendations that help transform mental health and social care systems across the UK.
About the Role
As an Expert by Experience, you'll play a key role in assessing service quality and identifying opportunities for improvement across hospitals and health and social care settings. You'll engage directly with staff and service users to provide feedback from a lived experience viewpoint, helping shape compassionate and effective care environments.
Responsibilities include
* Conducting site visits and evaluating service quality from a lived experience perspective.
* Engaging in conversations with staff, service users, and families to gather meaningful insights.
* Compiling observations into structured reports, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
* Working with other EbEs and health professionals to share recommendations and feedback.
* Participating in training sessions, supervision, and monthly meetings to build your skills and stay connected with the team.
Qualifications and Skills
* Lived Experience: You should have direct experience with mental health or social care services as a service user.
* Empathy and Understanding: Ability to listen, empathize, and communicate with sensitivity.
* Effective Communication: Verbal and written communication skills for sharing insights in person and in reports.
* Reliability and Professionalism: You should be dependable, on time, and respectful of confidentiality.
* Flexibility and Adaptability: This role involves travel to various sites.
