JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Legal Cashier within a busy law firm who will provide support to the accounts department and maintain high standards of service to clients and consultants of Nexa Law consistent with the firm's policies and procedures. Specifically, to provide a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality service to meet the needs of the business.
* Posting Client Bank Account Transactions e.g. client payments in a timeous manner to case management system
* Assisting with accounts payable, including processing payments to vendors and suppliers
* Checking of all documents received from consultants & supplies prior to processing payment requests
* Ensuring payment out requests from consultants are processed e.g. Faster Payments, CHAPS payments and Cheque requests from both office and client account
* Handling of Searches via case management system ensuring that client transfers are carried out to office to include HMLR/HMCTS / Companies House / infotrack
* Undertaking the banking of office and client cheques
* Continuous use of HSBC Bank for all banking transactions
* Processing of internal client ledger transfer requests
* Handling of Inbound calls from Clients, Consultants, Suppliers and other law firms
* Identify any unexpected movements and report to Finance Manager.
* Dealing with ledger queries, and all other miscellaneous transactions or requests that come into the accounts central email inbox efficiently.
* Assist in providing cover for colleagues when absent to include CTO transfers, credit notes, purchase ledger invoices, payments and enquiries
* Maintain a working knowledge of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts Rules and Handbook. Report any breaches to the Team Leader and / or COFA
The successful Legal Cashier will ideally have previous Legal accounts experience as well as strong Microsoft Excel & Outlook experience. You will display the following skills and attributes:
· Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role within a law firm or legal environment is preferred
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
· Time Management and Organisational skills
· The Ability to work well in a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
