Maintenance Operative
* Permanent - Full Time
Role: Maintenance Operative (Midlands Areas) - Travel requirements in Warwickshire and Tamworth
Full Time: 40 Hours per week
Requirements:
* Qualifications in recognised trade, e.g., City & Guilds
* Knowledge of general maintenance relating to buildings, mechanical and electrical services, decoration, plumbing, and gardening
* Time served experienced tradesman with all-round experience in multiple trades
* Manual handling techniques and health & safety in the workplace
* Knowledge of use of power tools and other general maintenance equipment
* Hold a full driving licence
As a Maintenance Operative, you will:
* Liaise with the Registered Manager/Headteacher/Head of Estates regarding maintenance work
* Undertake general repairs and maintenance around the sites, inside and out, including plastering, basic joinery, decorating, repairs on furnishings and buildings, including woodwork, and gardening to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment
* Respond effectively to urgent maintenance and repair tasks as they arise
* Undertake statutory checks such as asbestos visual checks, weekly fire alarm tests, water checks, etc., to ensure compliance
* Supervise external contractors, ensuring adherence to procedures and policies
* Implement health and safety policies, emergency, and fire procedures
* Report faulty appliances, damaged furniture or equipment, and hazards to the relevant manager
We specialise in residential step-down services and education for children and young people with complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and mental health issues. We also offer placements for children who have experienced trauma or attachment issues.
