Overview
Female personal assistant (PA) required to support a young person with profound learning disabilities, autism and epilepsy who uses a wheelchair full-time and lives in Longniddry.
The young woman has a wicked sense of humour, is fun, bubbly and sociable and is looking for a kindred spirit to help her live life to the full. This could involve helping her to get to youth club on a Thursday night, staying in to enjoy music, messing about on the iPad or going out to swimming and other leisure activities.
Responsibilities
* Support the young person with emotional regulation and personal care.
* Assist with moving and handling; the young person uses a stand aid.
* Provide care support as required; experience of care would be useful.
* Be cat and dog friendly.
Requirements
* Full UK driving licence to drive the young person’s Motability car.
* Either be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme or willing to join.
Details
* Two shifts per week: Wednesday for three hours between 1100 and 1700 (times flexible) and Thursday from 1830 to 2100.
* Additional 144 hours per year to be used flexibly for respite, including a few 24-hour shifts and some evening work. Dates and times to be negotiated.
* Rate of pay: £12.80 per hour.
