About Us
Runjeet Singh Ltd is a UK-based art gallery, specialising in contemporary art from the Indian diaspora. Our newly-opened gallery in Royal Leamington Spa will be staging a rotating programme of exhibitions each year, showcasing emerging artists locally and globally.
Position Summary
Runjeet Singh Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant to support daily operations at their public-facing gallery in Leamington Spa. This role is ideal for someone interested in modern and contemporary art, and offers hands-on experience in a commercial art gallery.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House
● Act as first point of contact to visitors to the gallery; greet and assist clients in a professional and welcoming manner
● Engage and inform clients about artists and works on show
● Record client details with accuracy
● Monitor gallery spaces to ensure the safety of artworks and visitors
● Help maintain cleanliness and presentation of gallery spaces
● Invigilate private views and gallery events
● Open and lock up gallery space ensuring gallery is secure
Gallery Admin and Operations
● Provide administrative support to support the smooth running of the gallery
● Support company book-keeping (training can be provided)
● Assist with installation or deinstallation of artworks
● Create engaging social media content
● Perform other duties as assigned by gallery staff
Requirements
Essential
● Student or Graduate of Fine Art, Art History, Curatorial Studies, or other related field
● Interest in contemporary art, arts administration, or related field
● Strong customer service and communication skills
● Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently and collaboratively
● Ability to support exhibition installation and deinstallation, involving lifting light objects
● Flexible working schedule with the ability to work weekends and occasional evenings
Desirable
● Minimum 1-year previous experience in a gallery/museum setting
● Experience supporting exhibitions or installations
● Experience book-keeping
Working Hours
Flexible Hours, weekend availability essential
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.97 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 21 per week
