As a Senior HR Case Adviser, you will be a trusted expert, guiding managers and headteachers through a wide range of complex employee relations matters.This is a dynamic role that requires strong employment law knowledge and safeguarding awareness. Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional HR advice on complex employee relations cases, applying employment law and council policies effectively.
* Influence and guide senior managers and headteachers to ensure employee matters are managed appropriately and promptly.
* Offer flexible, innovative solutions to resolve cases, outlining risks and options.
* Act as the HR lead for safeguarding, attending multi-agency meetings and applying substantial safeguarding knowledge.
* Provide HR advice for Employment Tribunal cases and attend hearings as required.
* Work with the legal team on contentious or high-risk issues to identify solutions and mitigate organisational risk.
* Mentor and support HR Case Advisers handling complex casework.
* Design and deliver briefings on new or updated HR policies to managers, headteachers and governors.
* Build strong working relationships with managers and headteachers to ensure timely and effective case resolution.
* Support large-scale restructures, TUPE transfers and academy conversions
* Keep up to date with employment law changes through CPD and employment law
CIPD Level 5
* Strong experience handling disciplinaries, grievances, workplace performance issues, and complex casework from end to end.
* The ability to confidently guide and influence managers through challenging HR matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills and the resilience to work with sensitive and sometimes high-risk situations.
* Experienced in safeguarding, TUPE and organisational change
