About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Recovery Navigator with a Criminal Justice focus to join the team. The team provides support and advice for individuals in a variety of Criminal Justice settings who are experiencing problematic substance use, to promote harm reduction, encourage ownership and promote positive change for the individual, their families, and the wider community. In a multi-disciplinary approach working with partner agencies such as the Police, Probation, the Learning and Diversion team, Prisons, and many others, you will provide a targeted approach for service users, from harm reduction, brief interventions through to structured treatment, ensuring that every recovery journey is tailored to the individuals’ priorities, you will be working across a variety of Criminal Justice, such as Police custody, Courts and Secure estates. You will take a “whole person” holistic approach, ensuring that everyone’s package of support is personal, flexible and realistic, that it encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every individual. What You’ll Do Manage a service user caseload, devising, implementing and reviewing on-going recovery plans and treatment, liaising closely with the full range of workers and skills within the service team, including family members and significant others as appropriate. Carry out triage/screening assessments and comprehensive assessments with service users. To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need: Experience supporting vulnerable people OR transferable skills from another sector Empathy, patience and a person-centred approach Good communication and organisational skills Understanding of safeguarding, boundaries and confidentiality Willingness to learn and develop within the role Delivering 1-2-1 and group therapeutic interventions Ideally experience or knowledge or the criminal justice system Driving licence preferred however not essential To view the full job description please click here What We Offer We value the people who make a difference every day.
