This isn't just about marketing a school. It's about shaping a movement in education.
At Wellington, we do things differently - and this is no ordinary marketing role.
We're looking for a bold, creative and strategic Head of Marketing and Communications to lead the next chapter of our story. You'll help define how the world sees Wellington School - not just as an exceptional place to learn, but as a leader in the future of education.
Wellington is a big-hearted community, full of ambition, compassion and joyful energy. We challenge ourselves and each other - but always with empathy and care. Our new educational vision is bold and refreshingly different, and we're looking for someone who can help share it with the world.
You'll work closely with our visionary Head (now in their second year) and a high-performing Admissions team to amplify our purpose and spark interest, curiosity and connection with prospective families and the wider public.
About the role
This is a senior, strategic position - but it's also hands-on. You'll need to lead from the front, combining clear vision with a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude. You'll oversee all aspects of the School's marketing and communications strategy, including:
* Developing and implementing a bold, joined-up marketing plan that reflects Wellington's unique ethos and vision
* Shaping brand identity, tone of voice and content across all platforms and materials
* Leading on digital marketing, including AI-led innovation, social media, web content and analytics
* Managing and mentoring the Digital Marketing Lead
* Partnering with Admissions and Philanthropy to align marketing strategy with audience growth and engagement
* Enhancing internal and external communications - building strong relationships with staff, families, alumni, and press
* Identifying and sharing powerful stories that position Wellington as a thought leader in education
* Ensuring a consistent and compelling brand presence across events, campaigns and publications
You'll bring:
* A proven track record of leading successful marketing and communications strategies
* Strong brand, storytelling and digital marketing experience
* Creative thinking and strategic clarity, paired with real attention to detail
* Knowledge of emerging platforms, AI tools and performance analytics
* Confidence in managing people, projects and priorities
* A collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal skills
* Energy, drive and a genuine belief in the power of education to change lives
Why join us?
Wellington is a school that feels like a family and performs like a team. We're proud of our beautiful campus, our outstanding facilities, and - most of all - the people who make up our community. We'll support your development, trust your judgement, and give you the freedom to make a real impact.
We offer:
* A competitive salary, discussed at interview
* 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays (to be taken during school holidays)
* Contributory pension scheme
* Generous fee remission for staff children (Reception to Sixth Form)
* Free school lunches during term time
* Free wellbeing classes and use of sports facilities
* On-site parking and cycle to work scheme
* A genuine commitment to professional growth and staff wellbeing
