This appointment is for a full-time Obstetrician with a specialist interest in high‑risk pregnancy.
You will be joining a well‑established team experienced in providing robust MDT care for people with medical conditions in pregnancy. Your expertise will help deliver evidence‑based, responsive and holistic care for our patients. There will be a focus on the management of our maternal population who have or who develop medical conditions in pregnancy, with opportunity to lead the care of women who experienced baby loss previously. To also support multiple birth, preterm birth prevention, birth choices and bereavement follow‑up clinics, working in close collaboration with other consultants.
You will also be expected to lead the Diabetes service across the MSE during their employment. You are expected to cover labour ward on a rotational basis along with ante‑natal clinics, elective and emergency theatres.
You will be actively involved in the clinical governance aspects of the directorate and the trust including risk management and meeting of CNST requirements.
You will provide expert input into clinical cases within the labour and antenatal wards that deviate from the normal. Provide risk analysis and management plans for all cases that require specialist input.
