Overview
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) is a clinically progressive, high-performing organisation focused on high standards of care and strong national target performance. We are offering opportunities for enthusiastic Specialty Doctors to join the Anaesthetics Department and work alongside our current team. The anaesthetic and critical care department supports a modern theatre and day surgery complex with adjacent ITU and HDU facilities and welcomes teaching interests.
Non-consultant colleagues occupy senior roles in the department and are valued for clinical and non-clinical experience. Specialty doctors currently hold senior roles including clinical effectiveness and audit leadership examples.

The successful candidates will share responsibilities within the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine. They will provide 8.5 programmed activities (PA) per week of clinical activity (daytime and out-of-hours) and 1.5 PA per week of Supporting Professional Activity (SPA). Additional clinical PAs may be available as needed, and the appointee will be encouraged to take on additional SPA roles aligned with their interests and departmental needs.
Specific departmental areas include elective surgery, obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia, acute pain, training and teaching, critical care, governance and service development, and participation in CPA/CPD activities as part of revalidation.
