Key purpose
As a Regional Liaison Engineer, you’ll act as the operational voice throughout the lifecycle of complex, high‑value wastewater treatment projects. You’ll ensure designs are practical, resilient, and aligned with our strategic goals, supporting seamless integration into live operations and long‑term asset performance.
Responsibilities
 * Champion operational requirements from concept design through to commissioning and handover.
 * Review and influence engineering designs to ensure operability, maintainability and cost‑effectiveness.
 * Provide expert input during detailed design and commissioning phases.
 * Ensure safety‑critical processes such as Safe Control of Operations (SCO) are planned and compliant.
 * Collaborate with site teams to support mobilisation, construction and commissioning activities.
 * Facilitate smooth project handovers, ensuring operational teams are fully prepared and confident.
What we’re looking for
 * Strong technical understanding of wastewater treatment processes.
 * Proven experience in operational or project delivery roles within the water industry.
 * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
 * Ability to interpret technical documentation and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
 * Practical experience with commissioning and operational handover.
 * Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent experience.
 * Chartered Engineer status or working towards accreditation (desirable).
Additional requirements
 * Strategic mindset with a personable, adaptable approach.
 * Full UK driving licence essential; regular travel to operational sites required.
 * Participation in a call‑out rota may be required.
