Job Description
Our growing Structures South team is located in Southampton and Basingstoke, and this role could be based in either of these locations, to suit you. Our Southampton and Basingstoke offices are multidisciplinary, providing the opportunity to meet with and work directly with other disciplines within WSP. The offices are within walking distance of their respective train stations.
You will be joining our expanding Building Structures team, as an Associate Director with accountability for the project management, technical leadership and delivery of schemes from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client.
In This Role, You’ll Have The Opportunity To
* Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept, for a wide range of challenging projects, including major hospital redevelopments, universities, and international projects with national and local architects.
* Take a key leadership role managing single and multi-disciplinary design projects from concept stage through to detailed design, in coordination with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.
* Contribute to our ongoing success and help us build towards delivery of a growing order book.
* Play an active role in business development, either by bringing existing client relationships or by developing new ones, helping to identify and secure future project opportunities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already has experience in work-winning or is keen to grow their skills in this area.
Experience & Qualifications
* A passion for business development is essential — whether you bring a track record of work-winning and client engagement, or you're eager to step into this space and grow your capabilities.
* A proven track record of successful design delivery, particularly in concept design and project inception stages, preferably in a multi-disciplinary environment.
* The ability to make a difference, proactively manage requirements and risks, and influence others to deliver successfully.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong leadership potential and the ability to communicate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
* Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE/ AIStructE/ MICE).
* Experience of team management responsibilities including line management and day-to-day operations.
