The post is both challenging and varied, involving inspections and contract monitoring. To be a success you will have extended knowledge of a wide variety of roads construction methods. You will make frequent use of your highly developed record keeping skills. The team regularly delivers a demanding programme of improvement and maintenance works; only possible through strong teamwork. Whilst you will work independently much of the time on routine inspections and sites, you will require to work in harmony with the rest of the team.
Extended relevant working experience, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to work under pressure is essential. Applicants should have strong communication and organisational skills. Knowledge of the Roads and Transportation system ‘Confirm’ and the Scottish Roads Works Register is desirable. Applicants must have an HNC or equivalent (SVQ3 or City & Guilds Level 4) in a relevant subject.
Your reporting base will be Station House, Bellshill and you will have an operational area within North Lanarkshire, however, the post may involve work throughout North Lanarkshire and out with public transport routes, therefore, a current driving licence is essential.
