The CompanyA well respected and industry leading specialist food distributor based on the outskirts of Manchester.The RoleReporting into the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for implementing the procurement strategies set by the Business Directors within the organisation to deliver tangible results for the organisation. Key duties include-Managing the supplier base, negotiating competitive pricing, monitoring KPI’s and ensuring adherence to contractual termsDeveloping a Category Strategy to provide clear focus on direction, opportunities and challenges.Negotiating supplier product, service, quality, pricing and payment termsSourcing new products and suppliers from both inside and outside the UK and setting up new contractual terms.Writing new & reviewing existing contractual terms to ensure maximum commercial benefit within the business.Conduct benchmarking ensuring knowledge is up to date with marketplace / competitor information.Create and update formal category activity plans to ensure successful delivery to agreed budgets and timescales.Produce category management reports for the senior management team.Updating and maintaining supplier recordsWhat you’ll need to succeedYou will have a demonstrable background within Food Buying / Purchasing / Procurement and be able to demonstrate the following skill set-Able to manage multiple suppliers and projects simultaneously.Effective communication skills including verbal, written and listening.
