Role Overview
The HO [IP] Network Architecture role reports to the Director of Network Strategy & Architecture (NSA) in Group Networks. The role works with data science teams, group content delivery, and other architecture functions across mobile, systems/e2e and video.
Responsibilities
* Lead a small but expert group of network specialists (~5) across territory.
* Focus on solution architecture for key projects.
* Develop and support delivery against a long‑term roadmap.
* Lead cross‑domain architecture with other HOs and Principals, including interfaces with market teams and the Sky/Comcast group.
* Lead ideation for operational improvements and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience leading a telco architecture function, whether technical or enterprise architecture, with SMEs across disciplines expected.
* Deep understanding of telco disciplines and experience with a broad range of network technologies and vendors – e.g., access technologies, in‑home, optical, IP, signalling protocols, common internet standards and applications’ requirements.
* Experience with essential non‑transport technologies such as public and private cloud, network OSS stack, DNS, and related services.
* Experience managing business cases, cost modelling and major procurement activities.
* A broad understanding of internet technology and context – security, common applications, broader ecosystem (e.g., peering, CDNs), and regulation.
