Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants for an outstanding Consultant Psychiatrist role in an exceptional mental health service based in Diss, Norfolk. You will work for one of the UK's leading health care providers in a service that provides low secure care and specialised treatment for adults aged 18 years and older with learning disabilities. Patients may also have other conditions including personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs).
To be considered for this position you must be medically qualified with MRC Psych or equivalent and on the GMC specialist register.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT.
* Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users.
* Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis and treatment.
* Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits.
* Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management and embed clinical governance.
* Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers hearings, and attend hearings.
* Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 6/7) by telephone as required.
Qualifications and experience
* Medically qualified with MRC Psych or equivalent and on GMC’s specialist register.
* Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
* Strong communication skills: able to interview, assess, treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
* Committed to continued professional development.
* Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

* Salary: GBP 160,000 – GBP 170,000 per annum DOE.
