The Project Curzon Street station is a new £800m HS2 project in Birmingham city centre. The station development, whilst forming part of the new HS2 network between London and the North, will provide a catalyst for development across the East side of Birmingham. As a leading station, Curzon Street strives to provide a centre of excellence for the development of best practice reporting and management models. The role The Skills & Inclusion Manager will support the project’s delivery of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Skills, Employment & Education commitments. The role will help promote an inclusive workforce, manage the Skills, Education and Employment (SEE) programme and associated targets, and maintain the MaceDragados Joint Venture (MDJV) SEE Plan, including the development of Workforce & Skills Forecasts with Project Planners. Responsibilities · Principal day to day point of contact for HS2’s Skills & Inclusion Team and all matters relating to WI 2100 / 2200 · Contribute to the delivery of the MDJV Curzon Street EDI Strategy and MDJV SEE plan, securing acceptance from HS2 and ensuring both remain up to date · Ensure that reporting on all SEE / EDI activities is provided to HS2 through agreed processes to quarterly deadlines (PMU 6 / Common Data Ingestion Platform) and other ad-hoc reports on SEE performance · Develop and share with HS2 the workforce composition insights in accordance with WI 2200 and ensure that they are updated on a bi-annual basis or as requested · Develop and share with HS2 the labour and skills forecasts in accordance with WI 2100 and ensure that they are updated on a quarterly basis · Ensuring compliance in line with GDPR requirements in the collection and dissemination of EDI data · Contribute to and help develop and deliver the project’s induction arrangements · Deliver SEE and EDI training, awareness raising sessions or ‘good practice’ workshops, especially in relation to the requirements of the Equalities Act 2010 · Provide advice, guidance and training in all matters regarding SEE and EDI to MDJV colleagues · Work with the MDJV Euston Team to update SEE and EDI Policies and processes in line with the HS2 WI 2200 and WI2100 and the project Quality Management System · Ensure that the Stakeholder Record Management system is regularly updated and provides a clear summary of current discussions with external stakeholders. · Work with sub-contractors to ensure that MDJV SEE and EDI policies and procedures are incorporated in their employment and training arrangements and that workforce composition is being reported on. · Support he Project Health & Safety team to help minimise accidents and work-related ill health in line with WI 1100 · Work with the Project HR Manager to ensure SEE and EDI Strategies are embedded in the Project HR practices · Work with the Commercial team to ensure that SEE and EDI requirements are embedded in all subcontracts · Work with the Communications, SEE & SV Lead to create copy for communications including e/bulletins, newsletters and participate in updating community meetings. · Work with ER Manager in engaging the project workforce on EDI and SEE to ensure that supply chain is engaged with and involved in SEE / EDI initiatives · Regularly update any EDI / SEE staff in either of the Mace or Dragados parent companies You’ll need to have · Experience delivering Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) or Skills, Employment & Education (SEE) programmes within a large infrastructure or construction environment. · Strong working knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and best ‑ practice approaches to inclusive workforce development. · Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal teams, supply chain partners and external community organisations. · Proven ability to analyse workforce data, develop insights, and produce clear, accurate reports to defined governance or client deadlines. · Confident presenter with experience designing and delivering training, workshops or awareness ‑ raising sessions on EDI or workforce development topics.
