Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a maintenance technician to join our engineering team at our Blackburn manufacturing site. The role will be to maintain our machinery in our busy Door, Window and Glass factories. Machinery includes CNC machines, vacuum formers, hydraulic presses, PVC welders, chemical systems and more.

Rate of pay: £36 - £40K per annum plus shift allowance

Work hours: 40 hours rotating 6/2 Mon - Fri, 10/6 Sun – Thu and 2/10 Mon – Fri.

Responsibilities for the role are:

* To carry out any reactive maintenance activity safely, quickly and to a high standard to support manufacturing needs.
* To carry out ppms on our equipment safely and to the required standard.
* Supported by the management team, make sure all equipment is fit for purpose and falls inline with all required legislation.
* Take ownership of any maintenance activity from start to finish.
* Work alongside external contractors, making sure they work safely within company policies.
* To work with other departments on projects to help improve equipment run-time, up-time and product quality performance.
* To make sure all engineering documentation is kept up to date, such as the machine logs and all information is added to help us monitor and improve.

Essential skills:

* Time served with an industry recognised qualification in engineering (mechanical/electrical) such as BTEC, C&G, NVQ.
* Minimum 2 years experience working in a maintenance role at a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Good PC and communication skills. Be able to pass over clear instructions to colleagues as well as suppliers.
* Ability to work on own initiative to resolve any reactive maintenance issues while on shift.
* Ability and capacity to work overtime if required, during the week and weekends to support manufacturing.

Desirable skills:

* Multiskilled electrically biased candidate would be preferable but required training will be provided in either field.
* Basic PLC knowledge.
* Basic knowledge of Window machinery, as well as CNC experience would be advantageous.
