ROLE: Building Services Engineer - Electrical Bias
Salary: £35,000-40,000
Location: Worthing (HMRC Contract)

We're looking for a Building Services Engineer - Electrical Bias who will provide high-quality electrical and building-services support across the HMRC estate in Worthing.
Responsibilities
* Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on electrical systems, including lighting, distribution boards, emergency lighting, and small power.
* Carry out fault-finding, testing, inspection, and repairs to electrical infrastructure in accordance with regulations.
* Support general building services operations, assisting with mechanical or fabric tasks when required.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, industry standards, and contractual SLAs and KPIs.
* Complete job reports, asset updates, and documentation using Mitie systems in a clear and timely manner.
* Communicate effectively with the client and site teams, ensuring minimal disruption to HMRC operations.
* Monitor building performance and highlight opportunities for energy efficiency or system improvements.
* Participate in a 1 in 5 on-call rota with a company pool vehicle provided.
Required Qualifications
* Level 3 electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* 18th Edition (current) wiring regulations.
* A time served electrical apprenticeship would be advantageous.
* C&G 2391 testing and inspection is a desirable qualification.
* LV/HV AP tickets would be desirable (once you have site familiarisation you will be put through these courses).
* Experience in building services maintenance within commercial or public-sector environments.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across electrical systems.
* Ability to work independently across a busy, operationally sensitive site.
* Capability to pass HMRC security clearance (mandatory).
