Rate of Pay: £15.58 - £19.74 per hour
Summary:
The Community Engagement Officer will support the Councils Food Waste implementation project by developing communication materials and delivering community engagement programmes across the borough. Working within the Strategic Communications Team, the role will focus on promoting waste and recycling initiatives, engaging with residents and community groups, and ensuring inclusive communication that reaches all communities.
Responsibilities
* Organise and attend engagement events and activities across the borough to promote the Food Waste implementation project.
* Develop communication materials and engagement resources for both online and offline channels.
* Work with the Equality and Diversity Advisor to ensure engagement activities are inclusive and accessible to all communities.
* Collect and analyse community feedback to identify barriers to participation and support improvements to the programme.
* Ensure campaign messaging directs residents to clear and relevant web content.
* Prepare internal briefings and key messages for customer-facing staff.
Essentials:
* Experience working with residents, community groups or stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, partners and community members.
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
* Ability to work independently and take initiative.
* Understanding of community engagement and public communication approaches.
