Senior Finance Business Partner
Location: Wokingham, UK.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager – European FP&A, you will play a critical role within the Global finance organization supporting the Commercial, Operations and Finance teams. Responsibilities include revenue recognition and reporting, gross margin analysis, inventory control, and partnering the business on operating expenses control.
In This Role
* Act as the finance business partner for revenue recognition across the European region, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely recognition in line with IFRS/local GAAP and internal policy. This will include reviewing customer contracts and commercial arrangements to assess revenue recognition and margin impact and partnering with the commercial team to drive forecast accuracy of revenue.
* Take ownership of relevant month‑end close activities, explaining variances, overseeing accruals and deferrals, and ensuring earned vs billed positions are well understood and clearly articulated to leadership. Lead detailed gross margin analysis, clearly articulating drivers versus forecast and prior periods.
* Support robust inventory controls, including reconciliation, valuation accuracy, reserve adequacy, and compliance with internal control and audit requirements.
* Support in the preparation and submission of the budget and forecast for the European region, partnering with the business to drive profitable growth with robust cost control and supporting the global FP&A team.
* Be a significant part of a culture of continuous improvement, driving process improvements internally and taking part in wider company projects and initiatives.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Accountant with post‑qualification experience (Certified Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification).
* Strong experience in finance business partnering, revenue recognition, FP&A, or commercial finance within an international or matrixed organisation. Specific expertise in a US listed environment preferable.
* Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders and proven ability to influence senior non‑finance stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively.
* Advanced proficiency in finance systems and Excel. Experience with Oracle financials preferred but not essential.
* Team player with a flexible mindset, able to prioritise multiple issues and work to competing deadlines.
