We’re looking for an Assistant Route Communications Engineer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and improving our railway communications infrastructure. In this role, you’ll support the Route Communications Engineer and wider team to deliver maintenance and project work to the highest standards. You’ll help us achieve business objectives, ensure safety and compliance, and make a real impact on the reliability and efficiency of our assets. About The Role (External) What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the team to meet key performance measures and deliver projects on time. Supporting our staff development and engagement to create a positive, inclusive workplace. Ensuring safety and competence arrangements are in place for all team members. Monitoring asset performance and providing technical guidance. Undertaking, inspections, and investigations. Supporting assurance processes and maintaining accurate systems and records. Delivering work in line with agreed programmes and quality standards. What We’re Looking For Essential: Relevant technical competence and knowledge of maintenance delivery processes. Understanding of safety and compliance management. Experience in an operational railway environment. Detailed knowledge of standards, procedures, and design principles. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills. HNC/HND or equivalent qualification or relevant experience. Desirable: Knowledge of coaching techniques.
