Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board covers the Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Council areas. The Assessor for the Valuation Joint Board is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll for Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation List for Council Tax. The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for three Councils (Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire) and in that capacity is responsible for maintaining the Register of Electors and Absent Vote Lists. The Board employees approximately 45 people and our office is at Glendevon House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Valuer/Senior Valuer to work within our Valuation Team.
Applications are invited from Members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with relevant experience in an Assessors Service or equivalent experience in the land and property sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the survey and valuation of a wide range of property for rating purposes, the survey and valuation of domestic property for Council Tax, the negotiation of appeals with council taxpayers, ratepayers and professional agents and shall assist with the preparation of evidence for cases that proceed to the Local Taxation Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal.
Applications are invited from members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with significant post qualification experience for rating purposes and a good working knowledge of the law and practice of Valuation for Rating and Council Tax. Duties will include the survey and valuation of a wide range of property for rating purposes, the survey and valuation of domestic property for Council Tax, dealing with domestic and non-domestic proposals, the negotiation of appeals with ratepayers and professional agents, the presentation of evidence at appeal hearings and training and development responsibilities of Valuation team members.
