About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Collision Investigator to join our Forensic Investigations team at TRL.
The successful candidate can be based UK wide. This is a part timerole (ideally 20 hours per week).
Key Duties / Responsibilities
* Primarily responsible for carrying out peer reviews of technical reports; checking the accuracy, quality and consistencyof expert reports and providing feedback in an objective and constructiveway.
* Identifyandproposeany alternative scenarios, methodsof investigation or researchthat mightbe applicableto a particular caseor could beused tovalidatethe results.
* Identifyareas for improvement, coach and mentor team members,contribute to teammeetingsandparticipatein quality managementreviewsessions.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Qualifications or extensive relevant experience in collision investigation and vehicle examination.
* Knowledge of key principles of collision investigation and developments within the discipline.
* Qualified and experienced in the forensic analysis of video and able todemonstratecompetence in using a range of analysis techniques.
* Comprehensiveknowledge and understanding ofresearch and developments within the discipline, able to reference and recommendpeer-reviewed papers that are relevant to a specific investigation
* Experience in reviewing others technical work and an ability todiscusscommentsand suggestionsconstructively,to explainyourrationaleand resolveissues
* Knowledge of therole of an Expert Witness,andtherelevant Criminal and Civil Procedure Rules in England/Wales, and their equivalents in otherjurisdictions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;in particular tobe able to explain technical information accurately and confidently, and provide honest feedback toassistin the technical development of colleagues
* Able to managetight deadlinesand balance conflicting priorities,communicating effectively withcolleaguesandmanagers.
Desirable:
* A degree in an engineering or automotive discipline, or a similar technical/scientific subject is preferred.
* Experience in vehicle examination, including obtaining and analysing electronic data from vehicles, such as Event Data Recorders and telematic devices.
* Experience of presenting evidencein both Civil and Criminal Courts. xsngvjr
