NHS Dumfries and Galloway are looking to recruit a Higher Level Clinical Coder to co-ordinate an efficient Clinical Coding Team, ensuring workload is prioritised on a daily basis. The post holder will be responsible for the training and mentoring of clinical coders to ensure quality and accuracy is attained, and to ensure data is consistent and compliant with national standards and definitions to enable accurate data collation within agreed deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate an efficient Clinical Coding Team with daily workload prioritisation
* Train and mentor clinical coders to ensure quality and accuracy
* Ensure data is consistent and compliant with national standards and definitions
* Ensure accurate data collation within agreed deadlines
Qualifications
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of ICD10 and OPCS4
* Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical and physiological terms
* Effective communication skills
* Experience using PAS is desirable
