The Surgical Division at Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Operational Service Manager for their General Surgery, Colorectal, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB), Vascular and Urology business unit to cover a maternity leave. With an annual budget of £24.7 million, you will be responsible for managing multiple specialities across three hospital sites.
If you thrive on a challenge and have demonstrable experience in operational management, including the management of waiting lists in line with the three cancer standards and Referral to Treatment (RTT) rules, as well as experience of service improvement and innovation, this post may be for you. The General Surgery and Urology business unit is undergoing significant changes to support recovery clear our longest waiting patients and continue our journey to build a world class team for the future, including investing in robotic assisted surgery and has clinicians who are involved in Research and Development. The business unit supports clinicians who are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal surgery.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has the leadership experience to engage, encourage and support the existing team to drive surgical pathway innovations and high-quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder:
·Will lead the operation and development of the service with responsibility for business planning, budget management and staff management, to enable delivery of access, activity, finance, staff performance, staff development and quality targets.
·Has joint responsibility with the other managers and clinical leads to provide the overall leadership to the Division. They will be required to establish, improve and maintain effective operational links with all relevant services across the Trust.
·Will provide direct operational leadership of a defined clinical area within the Division, the post holder will be responsible to, and support the Divisional Management Team in the achievement of operational and clinical governance objectives.
·Ensure that the highest standards of clinical care are continuously delivered while delivering cost improvement and productivity schemes to support the wider Trust agenda.
