Job Description
Provide support to learners and teachers by undertaking a range of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and practical tasks such as contributing to the preparation of teaching materials. This role aims to assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of the key objectives outlined in the Education Service Plan and the Community Plan.
Requirements
The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member concerning Regulated Work with these groups, or be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update if already a member, before any formal employment offer is made by East Ayrshire Council. PVG records are constantly updated; any relevant information disclosed will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual
This is a permanent, part-time, term-time position based at Willowbank School, Kilmarnock. The hours are 13.5 per week, worked on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Willowbank School caters to pupils with severe, complex, and profound additional support needs. Experience working with children with Additional Support Needs is advantageous. The full-time salary range is £24,333 - £25,353 per annum; the actual term-time, part-time salary is £8,050 - £8,387 per annum.
