Job Title: Apprentice- Painter and Decorator
Rate of Pay: £7.55 per hour
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 39
Location: Mitie Painting, North West Region
We are seeking an Apprentice Painter and Decorator to join our team, where you will receive training to perform various tasks effectively. The role involves internal and external painting and decorating as directed by management, including preparation work to walls, minor repairs to surfaces and structures, and using relevant tools and equipment safely. You will be responsible for erecting access equipment with appropriate training, setting up access plant and temporary screening as needed, and monitoring decorating material stock to request replacements as required.
In terms of client and customer relations, you will respond promptly to verbal and written tasks, ensure all painting and decorating work is completed to a high standard, support and contribute to projects, and inform your line manager of any complaints or discrepancies. Operationally, you will ensure all tasks are completed within the approved budget, utilize and maintain painting and decorating equipment properly to avoid wastage, complete and return time sheets accurately, and adhere to local procedures and site management protocols.

Responsibilities
* Receive training to perform painting and decorating tasks as directed by management.
* Prepare walls and surfaces, carry out minor repairs, and use painting and decorating tools and equipment safely.
* Erect access equipment with appropriate training and set up access plant and temporary screening as needed.
* Monitor decorating material stock and request replacements as required.
* Respond promptly to client and customer requests in verbal and written form.
* Complete tasks within approved budgets and adhere to site management protocols.
* Maintain and correctly use painting and decorating equipment to avoid wastage.
* Complete and return timesheets accurately and attend college if required to work towards a qualification.
Qualifications
* Organised, self-motivated, and a team player with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance issues.
* Good knowledge of Health and Safety.
* Positive attitude with a can-do approach and excellent customer service skills.
* Willing to attend college to work towards a recognized qualification in Painting and Decorating.
