We are looking for a Buyer / Planner for our client, a leading distributor of chemicals. As a key member of the UK Purchasing department, you will be responsible for buying and sourcing materials for customers.

Role responsibilities include…
* Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers both in person and over the phone.
* Negotiating with suppliers to ensure the best price and payment terms.
* Managing stock levels to meet company and customer expectations.
* Onboarding new suppliers and products in line with company standards.
* Managing slow-moving stock and quarantine materials proactively.
* Attending sales meetings to promote materials and provide market information.
Your background…
The Buyer / Planner role involves developing supplier relationships, negotiating, managing stock, and attending sales meetings.
Must have:
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
* Good organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team
* Buying experience in a distribution environment
Bonus to have:
* Negotiation experience
* CIPS Qualification
* Chemistry/Science degree
