As a Response Officer you will:
* Respond to and witness noise complaints, ask perpetrators to stop/reduce noise levels.
* Undertake paperwork to record incidents and attend court as required.
* Undertake routine patrols and security checks at various locations (nights only).
* Work in pairs to assess noise nuisance under Section 79(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 or the Anti‑Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014.
* Provide a responsive, professional service to customers and partners, supporting crime reduction under the Safer Leeds Plan.
* Carry out dynamic risk assessments and maintain accurate records with evidence.
* Serve warnings or legal notices and attend court when necessary.
* Maintain a polite and professional manner at all times.
* Work across all Leedswatch service areas to ensure continuity of service.
* Use communication tools such as radios, telephone, body cameras, mobile CCTV, MIFI, laptops and MS Office.
* Respond to alarms and activation calls, seek assistance from partners and emergency services when required.
* Issue, collect and audit keys on behalf of clients when necessary.
* Participate in action days, partnership engagement and crime‑reduction initiatives with police and other agencies.
Essential Criteria
* Full current UK driver’s licence and ability to drive a council vehicle.
* Full Police vetting (higher level).
* Ability to keep accurate records, understand regulations, policy and legislation.
* Experience with security industry authority level 2 BTEC awards (preferred).
* Willingness to attend court and give evidence when required.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
* Decision‑making on own initiative within agreed criteria.
* Conflict resolution skills.
* Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality.
* Experience with computer packages and liaison with police and other agencies.
* Understanding of Leeds City Council values, behaviours, equality and diversity policies.
* Ability to investigate and assess appropriate actions to resolve issues.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and development.
* Flexible and adaptable to support other services as required.
