Role Available: Specialist SEND Support Assistant – Havering

Protocol Education is looking for a Specialist SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Havering. This full-time role focuses on supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, and PMLD. You will help students access learning opportunities, encourage independence, and ensure they feel supported and included throughout the school day.
Applicants may come from backgrounds in healthcare, social care, residential support, or may have personal experience supporting individuals with SEND. Previous experience within a school setting is not essential — the school values compassion, dependability, and a proactive mindset above all. You should also be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care when required.
Role Details:
* Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
* Long-term role with the opportunity to become permanent
* Located in Havering

* Confident supporting children with complex needs
* Works well within a collaborative team environment
Qualifications such as Manual Handling, Hoist Training, First Aid, or care-related certifications are advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
