We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced tutor to support a Year 11 young person based in DT9 who has SEMH needs, EBSA, and has not attended school since Summer 2025.
This role is not about rushing academics. The young person requires a slow, pressure‑free re‑integration into education, with sessions that are very child‑led and focused first on emotional safety, confidence, and resilience.

Subjects: Core subjects (introduced gradually)
Approach: Child‑led, nurturing, relationship‑first
Academic Level: Below age‑related expectations
Assessment: Baseline assessment required to identify gaps and starting points
The Support Required
Build a trusting relationship before introducing learning
Support SEMH needs alongside gentle academic engagement
Introduce learning at the young person's pace, without pressure
Help rebuild confidence, resilience, and self‑belief
Carry out a baseline assessment once the young person feels safe enough to engage
Adapt sessions flexibly based on emotional readiness
Tutor Requirements
Minimum 6 months' experience working in a UK education setting
SEN experience is essential
Confident supporting young people with SEMH and EBSA
Comfortable planning and adapting sessions for a learner working below ARE
