Job Opportunity: Interim Laboratory Coordinator at Unilever
We are currently seeking an interim Laboratory Coordinator to work with our global FMCG client, Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. Join their fast-paced FMCG environment as an integral team member.
Location: Scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral. Easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, up to £30,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
Role Overview
The main responsibility is the coordination and preparation of fragrance evaluations for the HC Fragrance Team, ensuring adherence to standard and safe operating practices.
Key Duties
1. Coordination:
o Work closely with fragrance experts to plan evaluations, book facilities, prepare test materials, and manage sample logistics.
o Maintain stocks for ballast loads, monitors, and fragrance oils, updating databases accordingly.
o Represent the fragrance team in meetings to ensure smooth operation and cost efficiency.
o Manage visitor bookings, catering, and room arrangements.
2. Preparation:
o Complete Job Sheets with protocols and test requirements.
o Log test product samples into the database.
3. Preparation of Fabrics:
o Ensure quality and proper handling of fabrics and ballast loads.
o Order and label fabrics and monitors, maintain stock levels.
4. Preparation of Samples:
o Weigh and label washing agents and prepare water samples with specific hardness.
5. Test Washes:
o Operate washing machines and hand wash samples following protocols.
o Sort and prepare samples for assessment.
6. Recovery & Maintenance:
o Reuse ballast loads responsibly, record usage.
o Maintain cleanliness and record keeping.
7. Other Responsibilities:
o Track project costs, report to line manager, and suggest process improvements.
8. Safety:
o Create and maintain SOPs and Risk Assessments.
o Report safety issues and manage sample dispatch and disposal according to safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
* Awareness of safety procedures, including SOPs and risk assessments.
* Ability to work effectively within a team.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
