Residential Child Care Worker – Pebbles Care
Join a dedicated team that supports children and young people with challenging behaviours while providing a caring and therapeutic environment. You will be employed full‑time, averaging 56.4 hours per week (including sleep hours) in a full‑UK manual driving licence‑qualified role.
Responsibilities
* Provide individualized support tailored to the young person’s needs, working one‑to‑one or two‑to‑one.
* Transport children to and from school, appointments, and visits (requires a full UK manual driving licence).
* Prepare meals, manage household chores, and plan engaging activities, outings, and holidays.
* Implement the Therapeutic Care Model and collaborate with the Learning & Development team, Psychology, Education and Senior Management teams for expert support and guidance.
* Attend inductions, training and ongoing professional development.
* Support additional homes within the same geographical area when required.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
* Dedication to safeguarding children and young people.
* Strong desire to obtain and maintain relevant qualifications.
* Confident, resilient and patient with a kind, supportive nature.
* Valid full UK manual driving licence.
* Effective verbal and written communication.
* Proficient IT skills using Microsoft Office.
* Active listener who can build non‑judgmental relationships.
* Creative and enthusiastic about learning new skills.
Desirable
* Up to 12 months experience working with children or young adults (more experience may open higher salary grades).
* Working toward or possessing SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma relevant to the residential child's workforce.
* Familiarity with regulatory codes of practice.
* Existing PVG/DBS certificate.
Benefits & Pay
* Base salary £34,719.00 to £36,248.00 per annum (pro rata) based on experience.
* 24‑hour rota pattern: one day on (24 hrs, including sleep) and two days off (48 hrs).
* Average weekly hours (including sleep) 56.4. Part‑time or zero‑hour contracts may be offered for flexibility.
* 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time).
* 100 % funding for Level 3 SVQ/NVQ qualification in Residential Child Care.
