Join Our Team as a Senior Storekeeper at Aspire Defence Service Limited (ADSL)
Location: Tidworth & Bulford
Salary: £29,000 per annum
Benefits: Tools, and uniform provided
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, 37.5 hours per week (No weekends)
Key Purpose of the Role
To support the Stores Supervisor in delivering an efficient, accurate, and compliant stores service by leading the day-to-day activities of Storekeepers. The Senior Storekeeper provides hands-on operational oversight, mentors junior team members, and ensures safe and effective materials handling in line with MOD and ADSL procedures. This role is a key part of the talent pipeline, preparing individuals for future supervisory roles.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Lead the daily coordination of Storekeepers under the direction of the Stores Supervisor
*
Allocate and monitor tasks to ensure stock is issued, received, and recorded accurately
*
Act as team lead in Supervisor's absence, ensuring continuity of service
*
Provide hands-on support for high-priority or complex stores tasks
Stock & Inventory Control
*
Oversee correct use of stores processes for goods in/out, labelling, and location tracking
*
Ensure stock is rotated, staged, and maintained to required standards
*
Conduct or assist with routine stock checks, audits, and reconciliations
*
Support the implementation of continuous improvement in storage layout and flow
Health & Safety / Compliance
*
Promote and enforce compliance with ADSL QHSE policies and procedures
*
Ensure Storekeepers follow safe handling, PPE, and manual handling guidance
*
Report hazards, near misses, or incidents promptly to the Stores Supervisor
Systems & Documentation
*
Use systems such as MJDI, JAMES, or IFS to record stock movement accurately
*
Assist with ensuring data integrity for audit readiness
*
Support the Stores Supervisor and Administrator with documentation and material tracking
Qualifications
Essential:
*
GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)
*
Full UK Driving Licence
*
Manual handling trained (or willingness to undertake)
Desirable:
*
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Warehousing and Distribution
*
IOSH Working Safely
*
Familiarity with IFS, or other ERP/inventory systems
Skills & Attributes
*
Proactive and reliable, with strong attention to detail
*
Confident in prioritising tasks and supporting junior team members
*
Team-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills
*
Comfortable using inventory systems and handling documentation
*
Calm under pressure and responsive to operational needs
