Salary: £31,537 - £34,434 per annum (Grade 5)
Hours: 36.66 per week
Based: Coalshaw Green Family Centre

Role Overview:
The successful applicant will be required to undertake observations within a supervised contact between parents and children, support reunification plans and complete direct work with children and young people who are Looked After.


Key Responsibilities:

* To make accurate observations and recordings of supervised family time (contact) between parents and children which will be used to support social work assessments in court.
* To support and offer advice and practical guidance to parents in all aspects of parenting.
* To visit families in their home if children have been returned to their parents’ care following the court process.
* To undertake direct work with children and young people


Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

* An NVQ level 3 in a related subject or at least 3 years’ experience working with children and families.
* A good knowledge of child development and childcare practice, respecting cultural differences.
* Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills.
