Social care is a challenging and rewarding career. Our Handyperson staff work with some of Edinburgh's most vulnerable residents. Working in Adult Social Care is a way to make a real difference to the lives of adults, and it is extremely rewarding.
You don't need previous experience in Adult Social Care to apply for the role of Handyperson. The post holder will have basic building and DIY skills and knowledge of equipment necessary to carry out the role.

This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG update check. Candidates who have spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years will require an Overseas Criminal Record Check. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.

Salary ranges typically reflect starting pay and increase annually until the top of the range. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
