We have a very exciting Autumn-Spring Youth Volunteer Programme launching this Autumn. As a candidate on the programme, you'll have an opportunity to support your local hospital, give back to the NHS, learn more about careers in the NHS as well as having an enjoyable and engaging time in the hospital setting.
You will provide valuable support to patients across our hospital ranging from assisting with mealtimes, maintaining our outside spaces to look beautiful, providing companionship and entertainment at the bedside, support seasonal events, promote volunteering and support patients to provide feedback.
You will contribute at least 50 hours of your time during your October, Christmas, February, Easter and May School Holidays to support patients' wellbeing, positively influence their hospital experience and work collaboratively with our staff to ensure high quality care is always delivered.
Please note we are only able to recruit 10 volunteers for this programme.

Commitment of 50 hours of volunteering during the weeks commencing: 27 th October / 22 nd December / 29 th December / 16 th February / 30 th March / 6 th April / 25 th May
Live, work or study within a 5-mile radius of Kingston Hospital
Before you get started with your volunteering role, you will be invited to attend the Volunteer Induction Day and bespoke /role specific training. This will give you a full insight into the basic things that you need to know before you start your volunteering journey at the trust
This training is mandatory and will take place on Tuesday 25 th November .
Assessments will take place during September & early October. Applicants must be available to attend buddy/training sessions during the week beginning 27th October, and to participate in our training day on Tuesday 25th November, at Kingston Hospital. Please ensure you have obtained permission from your school or college to attend this training day prior to submitting your application.
If you have any planned holidays during the half-term breaks, we recommend that you refrain from applying, as attendance is necessary to complete the required hours for the programme.

Letter from head teacher or college principal, confirming you are a student and containing your name, current address and date of birth, PLUS either an official exam certificate in your name or a National Insurance number letter.
