About the role Our team are looking for an Away From Home Insight Analyst, with a passion for research and the food and drink industry. This is a new role which is being introduced to support IGD’s fast-growing AFH insight proposition. You’ll be inquisitive, have an interest in AFH and want to be an important part of a dynamic and progressive environment, engaging with clients in a rapidly changing agile industry. You’ll be looking for the opportunity to develop your voice and share thoughts that help our clients grow. This is a role in our AFH insight team, driving research and predictions for commercial success, for businesses in the food, drink, away from home and retail sectors – both in the UK and globally. From our unparalleled industry relationships and access, you'll be able to build your network with businesses, seeing and understanding first-hand what affects them. The role will also work alongside our wider team of shopper and retail insight experts within the broader IGD research team, with the opportunity to collaborate across projects. The responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Away From Home Insight, these include: Producing best-in-class insight You will be part of a team who identify best practice, innovation and future growth opportunities from a variety of sources, including market visits, conversations with our broad network of industry contacts, primary research and desk research, and use these to deliver reporting on a variety of AFH trends and developments in the UK and globally. You will be responsible for producing reports, articles, presentations and other content as part of our continuous research programme which provides actionable insight and foresight to our subscribers through IGD’s Away From Home, Retail Analysis and ShopperVista web-based insight platforms. Supporting our primary research You’ll be supporting ongoing primary research with key AFH operators, manufacturers, trade bodies and research partners, through regular calls, meetings and market visits. You will also support our shopper and consumer qualitative and quantitative research projects as part of our ongoing research programme for subscriber clients. You will also play a supporting role in client-specific projects, providing insights that exceed client expectations in terms of quality and depth of insight. You’ll demonstrate your knowledge, sharing your research with customers in the form of virtual or in-person presentations and webinars. Support in data & forecasting You’ll help to maintain and update our evolving away from home and food-to-go datasets, using primary research to forecast key metrics and growth estimates, and provide your own perspective, to inform our subscribers’ decision-making and business planning routines. Focus on personal development As a self-motivated learner with a curious mind, you’ll seek out opportunities for your own growth as well as new ways to support IGD’s research programme. By actively developing an internal & external network and using feedback from colleagues and clients, you’ll be able to continually improve the quality of IGD insights and research whilst continuing your own personal development journey. What you bring * Ideally knowledge and experience of the UK AFH market, (or a keen interest) * Excellent writing skills with proven experience in writing online content / presentations / reports * Ideally, experienced in working with excel data sets * PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills, with the ability to turn multiple sources of information into meaningful insights and reporting * Ideally, proficient in presenting information to audiences, either virtually or in person, providing opinions on key topics of relevance that drive impact for the client * Ideally an understanding and experience of using different qualitative and quantitative research methodologies * The ability to plan and manage your own workload * A team player with a collaborative mindset who takes pride in maintaining high standards in your own work and meeting deadlines * Capable of adapting priorities under pressure with a positive approach to change * A curiosity for learning and sharing your knowledge, with an ability to think creatively and to innovate, with an ethos of continuous improvement and constantly pushing the boundaries The rewards We offer a range of benefits, including a market leading pension, a bonus scheme, the ability to buy and sell annual leave plus a generous medical insurance package.
