SSQ is working with a leading international law firm in their search for a Competition Associate or Senior Associate (2–5 PQE) to join their highly regarded Competition & Antitrust team in London.
What you can expect:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and highly ranked competition practice within a global disputes and regulatory group. The team advises multinational and UK businesses on merger control and other investment control regimes, including national security and foreign direct investment. They also act on behavioural competition law matters, including cartels, state aid investigations, and damages claims, with a particular strength in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and sports sectors.
You will gain exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters, working closely with market-leading partners and on some of the most high-profile competition cases in the UK and internationally.
You can expect to work on:
* Advising corporate clients on CMA investigations and merger control clearances.
* Acting for businesses in national security and foreign direct investment reviews.
* Supporting clients on complex UK and cross-border M&A transactions, including competition risk assessments.
* Representing clients in competition litigation and appeals before UK and European courts and tribunals.
* Advising on allegations of abuse of dominance and cartel activity.
* Providing state aid advice to public sector bodies and international organisations.
What we are looking for:
* England & Wales qualified solicitor with 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience.
* Experience across both contentious and non-contentious competition law matters.
* Strong technical skills and commercial awareness.
* Experience gained at a top-tier international or well-regarded national/regional firm.
