Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our Health, Safety and Fire Team at Birmingham Airport. This role will play a key part in supporting colleagues across the airport on all aspect of health and safety. You will provide expert advice, lead a team of Health & Safety Advisors, and contribute to strategic development and cultural change across the airport community, ensuring statutory compliance and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing competent Health & Safety advice and guidance across a diverse range of risks
2. Lead, manage and develop a team of Health & Safety Advisors
3. Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety and Fire strategy
4. Provide guidance and assurance to stakeholders, tenants and contractors
5. Deputise for the Head of Health, Safety and Fire when required
6. Contribute to strategic programmes that drive positive safety culture change
Duties:
7. Deliver practical, proportionate health and safety advice in a complex, high-risk environment
8. Ensure accidents and incidents are appropriately investigated and actions agreed and tracked
9. Undertake assurance activities, including audits, to ensure compliance with set standards
10. Support the development and delivery of health and safety training aligned to risk profiles
11. Produce reports, action plans and policy documentation to support compliance and improvement
12. Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and continuous professional development
