Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £92 – £115 per day

GSL Education are searching for an enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in York. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing environment, supporting younger pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing.
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support classroom activities, provide targeted support to pupils, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will be caring, proactive, and confident in supporting children with a range of abilities.

Core Responsibilities of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant:
* Support pupils in lessons as a Teaching Assistant
* Work with individuals and small groups to support learning
* Assist with classroom preparation and daily activities
* Promote positive behaviour and engagement
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
* Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Level 2 Teaching Assistant Requirements:
* Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
* Experience working with children in an educational setting
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A patient, caring, and proactive approach
* Ability to support pupils with varying learning needs
* An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
