The Domestic Abuse Community Team works with women and men in the community who have experienced or are still experiencing domestic abuse. The domestic abuse team are responsible for providing and co-ordinating support to customers in order to enable them to address safety issues around domestic abuse, to access legal options, to address support needs, realise aspirations and move towards independent living and work. Position: This is an exciting role that shall support our most marginalised customers across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You will be working to provide a high-quality and pro-active frontline service to victims of both domestic abuse and sexual abuse; delivering a path-way of care and maintaining ownership of support rather than moving an individual onto alternative services. You will initiative, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links to ensure we are consistently working and representing our customers at Multi-agency risk assessment conferences (MARAC). We can offer you the opportunity to join a professional and friendly team who have backgrounds in either social work, substance abuse, housing, trauma care, child and youth services; work in a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE); use a holistic, non-biased trauma informed approach; use your transferrable skills and experience to achieve best outcomes for ‘survivors’; receive full training, support and supervision to support ‘survivors’ effectively; undertake both IDVA and ISVA training courses and qualifications if applicant does not already hold these is required. Requirements: provide weekly 1- 1 sessions with individual ‘survivors’ that are outcome focussed; work within ‘professional boundaries’ and use trauma focused strategies; listen to and build trust with ‘survivors’ work with complex needs, challenging behaviours and manage presenting risks; be an advocate on behalf of ‘survivors’; build good working relationships with agencies and liaise effectively; empower ‘survivors’ to find their own way and promote independence; be self-motivated, proactive, resilient, empathic and non-judgemental;
